Joy’s Wisdom

Looking forward to more of the good stuff!

Ask for what you want

I don't know why everyone is so glad the pandemic is over??? For me, it was heaven ... the best time ever! After all, with Kat and Michael at home I got even more walks. They were glorious. I know, many of my fellow dogs got tired of the endless walks. But not me. I'll take as many as I can get.

I'm enjoying all the new toys. The challenge for Kat is finding ones I can't destroy in just a few minutes. What she doesn't understand is that's my job. My favorite are the ones we can play tug-a war with, although I know Kat isn't giving it her all. Afraid it'll hurt my teeth, I guess.

I've taken on a new job ... making sure Kat doesn't sit at her computer too long. My insistent whine is quite effective at getting her to take me outside to do what I do best ... retrieve tennis balls, over and over again. So, it's a win, win.

I've noticed that Kat isn't just home ... she is REALLY home. The pace has slowed down, she takes more time to BE with me. We've had some awesome conversations and her delightful sense of humor makes my day.

Yes, COVID was great for me, however, I realize not always for you humans. While our home was filled with much laughter, there has also been times of great sadness. It's given me the opportunity to be the ultimate comfort dog. Now that's my purpose in life. What do you believe YOUR purpose is?

Here's a quote from Gilda Radner (one of Kat's favorite comedians) that I want to live up to every moment of every day.

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me, they are the role model for being alive.

Here's to bringing forward all the good stuff, and leaving the rest behind. I'm looking forward to more playtime, more walks and more cuddling with Kat. What are you looking forward to? Whatever it is, here's to more of it!
