Joy’s Wisdom

I'm really into scratch and sniff - you should try it!

Smell floweres

This is by far my favorite thing to do on our morning walks. Every new smell, I mean aroma (Kat's edit) is glorious, especially now that Spring has sprung. It's the pay off for all the itching that it brings along with it!

All this scratch and sniff slows us down, but is that a bad thing? It's my sly way to force, I mean invite (OK, another Kat edit) Kat to slow down and take it all in. I've even got her to the point that her goal on our walks is to NOTICE something she's never seen before. It's amazing how we can do the same walk every day and see totally different things, especially if we walk backwards. Another one of my tricks 1

I wonder, how many things are we not seeing, even though they're right in front of us. A great thought to ponder. And, another excuse for even more walks!

These daily adventures as I call them, give us the opportunity to live out one of Kat's core values - insatiable curiosity! Some of you humans like to discourage such adventures by referring to the old adage, ·curiosity kills the car(thankfully not Kat). What they fail to remember is the rest of that quote ... ·And satisfaction brought it back!" And oh, how satisfied I am!

In stress inducing times like this, there's nothing like a scratch and sniff adventure. Try it some time and see what you notice!

We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. {Walt Disney)
